Art Therapy

Art therapy uses art processes and materials within a therapeutic relationship to achieve various goals such as building self-esteem, self-identity, problem solving skills, and relationship skills. Art therapy offers a wealth of opportunities for expression and communication, leading to greater self-awareness. A unique opportunity here is equine-integrated art therapy.  The equine-integrated art therapist can have a sequenced agenda or method of practice that incorporates artmaking, interaction with the equine, verbal processing, and reflection. Clients can use their relationship and connection to the equine as a way of reflecting on themselves as well as their patterns of behavior and thought.
